MIT App Inventor - Waiata App

so lately in robotics we have been on a app maker and this was our second project and it was called the waiata project this project was a easy one to do and wasn't as complicated as i thought it would be and was really easy this project was mostly about making different  folders and adding things to each one

What is your understanding of Career?I think career is something that shows what you interested in and the things you and what  you want  to do or pursue in life or just things that you are interested in general . also a occupation that you take for a serious amount of time or a period of time in a persons life with opportunities for progress in you life or others call it a profession or something requiring your time or training 

What is your understanding of Enterprise?Something in the commercial world or taken as a project or a venture that you take to gain progress or undertaking a company or starting you own business that you would like to take off on and pursue in the future  or something bold or complex or something for profit that you would like to gain from or at least gain something in return

What is your understanding of Entrepreneur?Someone who has started something themselves or made something that is unique or most people refer to as someone who sets up a business or businesses or taking on financial risks in hope for a profit or to gain money or progress in the thing they are trying to do

How do these concepts relate to the topic?They relate to the topic being that our teachers and staff want us to think about what we want to do in the future and the things we want to pursue in the future and start working on pursuing next year as we enter Year 11 at Bay of Islands Collage

How did this topic challenge your thinking?About what i would like to look at in my future and the things i should start looking st to get the future i want to get that would help me picking a job in the next few years and what it can teach me

How does your research project become an action plan for change?That maybe i shouldn't be as chill about going into the world after i finish school and to think about it  more and what i really want to pursue in the future

Conclude with your overall views on the topic?I think this was a good topic to look at and actually interested me and i would like to carry on with this topic in year 11 so i can find what will suit me best when i go out in the world

Karate Kid Film Studies

 The film the Karate kid is about a boy named Daniel Larusso and his mother moved from new jersey to California because they wanted a fresh start but when they got there things changed. Daniel meets a girl named Ali and they hit it off but there are some complications including her ex boyfriend . Daniel starts to get bullied by them when Alis ex  boyfriend sees Daniel and Ali together on the beach at a party that Freddy Fernandez invites him to until it goes sideways . Daniel decides to try and fight back but fails and meets a man called Mr Miyagi and Daniel goes to see him everyday but Mr Miyagi is secretly showing him how to defend himself through the chores that he gives him to do and enters into a tournament and fights the Cobra Kai boys that have been bullying him but in the end he wins the entire tournament with a broken leg and takes home the trophy

My favourite character is Mr Miyagi because he tries to help Daniel to defend himself so that he doesn't get hurt and chased down by Johnny and the Cobra Kai gang . also so he can defend himself in the near future . Mr Miyagi also becomes a father figure to Daniel Larusso and has placed himself in the place were Daniel can go to him and help him with the things he needs .Mr Miyagi also encourages Daniel to go and see Ail and help him with his girl problems.

An event which shocked/surprised/horrified/made me laugh was

The scene that shocked me was a part in the torment when Daniel was fighting a member of the Cobra Kai. Just a few minutes earlier to the fight the Sensei of the Cobra Kai boys told the boy who was fighting Daneil Larusso to put him out of the game but he said to the sensei but ill get disqualified but the sensei still tells him to do it because he was playing dirty and had doubts about Johnny facing Daniel because of all the other opponents that Daniel had beaten which got him on the leaderboard and stepped up his game in the tournament which made sensei a little scared and worried to put Johnny up against Daniel in the final fight 

I'd recommend this text to other teenagers because it was really enjoyable and i though it was a really good movie that i would recommend to other teenagers it was really fun and enjoyable to watch and pleased our crowd we all thought it was a good movie to just watch in general and would not mind watching it again for film studies

We have also been learning about different film terms and techniques. For example long shots that can be taken to show the whole body and the full frame another shot being mid shot and this shot can be taken from the waist up . close up shots cans be used to show the characters emotions in the face or to make the audience feel more involved with the character, help them understand what the character is thinking or feeling.

Sna nz What is happening with sna and what you should know about it

Thousands of angry residents, farmers, hapū and iwi groups have descended on Kaikohe in Northland to protest what they call "modern-day land grabs".The Far North Council is trying to designate some private land as a significant natural area (SNA), which ould heavily restrict what can be done with the land in the future.Around 8000 letters have been sent to residents explaining that up to 100 percent of their private property will be considered an SNA. 

from now on the council and goverment is trying to take our land away from us but wasnt successful this current year but they are trying to re do what they couldnt this year but will try an do better with it next year and take the land away from land owners and it can be done

• In chapter 3 they introduce that ponyboy and sodapops parents died in a car crash and they passed away during the car crash not long after ponyboy joined the gang because his brothers Darry and also sodapop were in the gang . There Parents names were Darrell Curtis being his father and his mother being Curtis

• Ponyboy was attacked by the greasers in the very beginning of the book on his way home from the theaters alone when he asked one of the gang members  to come with him   but none of them wanted to and he got jumped on the street by 3 greasers during one of them sat on his chest so he couldn't breathe properly but eventually after a lot of beating some of the gang came after the socs had left and found him in the gutter

 The idea of a person being deemed an outsider makes me feel worried because of what they need to and have to go through because the feeling of being targeted on the street and being judged just because of your money and the money you have is actually still a big thing in the world  we judge people constantly on what they look like what they dress like and also your family and your background from other places you have lived but people judge you constantly and normally the reason for it is because they are jealous

 (Based on the article) How often do you use electricity during the day? Everyday in an average Nz home people use around 28kWh per day with 4 members. Larger homes use around 30-40kWh.

 What is the main method for generating electricity in New Zealand? From the north and the south island we use our 2 power grids that power though to both parts of new zealand each part of electricity comes from different parts and is generated from Water ,Wind,Coal, there are also other parts including kinetic energy , Solar energy/Solar Power ,and geothermal 

 

What is the most common usage of electricity in New Zealand? The biggest demands are from the demand of Wood, pulp,Paper , and printing sectors and basic metal sectors and Tiwai Point aluminium smelting being the Largest single user of electricity in the country and it consumes a quarter of new zealand's electricity

 DISCUSS (With a friend) In your opinion, what is the best way to generate electricity? And why?

 I think that the best way to generate electricity is by the wind because we always have a big gush of wind in new zealand from every part of new zealand because of all new zealand there's lots of wind energy and we have a few wind turbines down the line and that helps to have those so we can have electricity \\\\\\\\\\\ Another good way of generating water is through water. Tidal and heated. Each grid in Nz is surrounded by water and the wind can help generate and help water flow because it is stronger to generate power. Dams will work better with a good water flow.
